The Blue Madonna

Blue Madonna

In 2002 John Robinson took a rubber mould from a marble copy of the unfinished Pitti Tondo by Michelangelo and had it cast in tropical sea blue glass in the Czech Republic after giving her sight by carving pupils into Mary's eyes. The three feet wide casting weighs 200 lbs and is now in Our Lady and the Angels Cathedral of Los Angeles USA. Go to the artist's own web site for a full account.
